The police say the altercation was between rival learners who were taken to the station and issued with warnings for their conduct.

THE KZN Department of Education (KZNDoE) has confirmed that it is aware of videos circulating on social media platforms showing chaotic scenes at a school in Pinetown.

The videos began making the rounds on Thursday (August 20), with some depicting learners engaged in physical altercations.

On Friday (August 21) morning, an official from the provincial department confirmed that representatives from the DoE’s Pinetown district have intervened with the aim of resolving the situation.

Meanwhile, the Pinetown SAPS confirmed that police responded to an incident at a school in the Nazareth area on Thursday, “following a fight involving learners from two opposing groups of learners within the school”.
