ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics arrived at the scene to find that the driver lost control, and the car collided with concrete barriers before lifting into the sky and coming to rest on its nose against a roadworks structure.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one person, a male believed to be approximately 30 years of age, had sustained major injuries, and there was nothing anyone could do for him, and he was declared deceased at the scene.”

Two other occupants had sustained serious injuries, and they were stabilised at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.

At this stage, the events leading up to the collision are unknown, however, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
