Man killed in Inanda Road head-on collision

Paramedics are responding to multiple crashes in Durban, including a fatal incident on Inanda Road in Waterfall, where a man in his 40s lost his life. In another incident, a vehicle rolled off the M13, leaving three occupants, including a child, with various injuries.

PARAMEDICS have advised motorists to exercise caution on the wet roads following a number of multiple crashes across Durban, with one claiming the life of a man in his 40s in Upper Highway.

Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said ALS Paramedics attended a fatal crash on Inanda Road in the Waterfall area this morning, Sunday, November16.

He reported that two vehicles collided head-on, leaving one person deceased and four patients with serious injuries.

“Paramedics arrived on scene to find carnage, and immediately the eThekwini Fire Department was dispatched to assist.

“One male believed to be in his forties had sustained fatal injuries and unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

The remaining four patients were treated on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals.

Shortly after that incident, Jamieson said paramedics responded to another accident on the M13 Durban bound near Gillitts where a vehicle had left the M13.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find a vehicle had rolled off the M13, onto the railway lines. Three occupants including a child had sustained various injuries and once stabilised on the scene the injured were transported to a nearby hospital.”

Jamieson urged motorists to  drive carefully and leave a little earlier to reach their destination on time.

“If you can, rather delay your trip.”
