Fantastical Crest Fest to highlight creative arts

Join in on the fun at this year's Crest Fest at Curro HCA.

CREATIVITY will reign supreme at Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy’s annual primary school arts festival Crest Fest, on Friday morning.

This year the event is titled Crest Fest Festival of Luminosity and will start at 8.30am with the opening parade, led by the KZN Army Band and Mistress Fantastical. From 9am to 10am the production So You Think They Can Dance will introduce children to a wide variety of dance genres.

Afterwards, the children will get the opportunity to try out some of the moves they’ve just watched as the dancers take workshops in all the different genres.

From 11.30am to 1pm choirs and other performance groups from schools around the province will perform in the 4 500-seater City Hill Auditorium.

“With six years of success behind us, Curro HCA’s Crest Fest is gaining new momentum in the community. We are proud of the reputation we have established in building this unique festival that also provides children from all sectors of the community with the opportunity of performing in our large auditorium. We are passionate about the power of the creative arts to build strong children and a strong nation,” said Judith Hawthorn, the festival curator.

Visitors welcome and entrance is free, although there will be a donation box at the door.
