The skirl of the pipes

Enjoy a day out to the Natal Scottish Gathering.

A COMBINED venture of the Rotary Club of Durban and the KwaZulu-Natal-Natal Piping and Drumming Society takes place at Natal Mounted Rifles situated at Isaiah Ntshangashe (Walter Gilbert) Road on Saturday, 25 June at 9am.

Entitled the Natal Scottish Gathering, it dates back to 1946 when the late John Mudie started the Durban Dancing Festival. It was later renamed the Natal Scottish Gathering.

Saturday’s event will see Highland dancing, a massed band display, a steel drums band in action as well as a military memorabilia display. Entrance is R25 per person (free for children under 10). Contact Eddie on 082 823 8055.
