Highway dancers take top spots at World Champs
Their coach, Warren Duffield, congratulated the dancers on their achievement.
DANCERS, Lindsay Whiteley and Nelita George from the Highway area, both achieved amazing results at the World Line Dance Masters Championships in Blackpool, England last week.
Lindsay Whiteley from Floorcraft Dance Studio achieved Allstar status, the highest ranking for a line dancer. In order to be given this prestigious status, a line dancer needs to win an advanced section at the World Championships, and that is exactly what Lindsay did.
Her coach, Warren Duffield, achieved Allstar status himself in 2013, and is proud of Lindsay and the dedication that has led her to achieving her goal. This is the second time Lindsay has won a world championship section, as she won the intermediate section at Worlds last year.
Nelita George, also from Floorcraft Dance Studio, achieved second spot in the Novice Open division, after dancing through two sets of heats, a semi-final and a final. A result of which her proud coach, Warren, said “was due to the many extra hours of practice and commitment she put into her dancing”.
