Baroque concert features music from Handel

Erik Dippenaar will direct from the keyboard his arrangement of Handel's organ concerto op 4 no 5, and also his own harpsichord concerto after Handel, Thomas Arne and John Stanley.

BAROQUE 2000’s next concert, once again featuring renowned Cape Town harpsichord virtuoso Erik Dippenaar, is on Sunday, 4 June at the Church of the Monastery in Mariannhill at 3pm.

Dippenaar will direct from the keyboard his arrangement of Handel’s organ concerto op 4 no 5, and also his own harpsichord concerto after Handel, Thomas Arne and John Stanley.

The other works, directed by Ralitza Matcheva, are the overture to Handel’s opera Rinaldo, Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso in E minor, William Boyce’s Symphony no 2, and Corelli’s Concerto Grosso op 6 no 1.

Tickets are R150 at the door. Parking is ample, free and secure.
