Embark on musical journey with St Mary’s

The Grade 6 and Grade 7 learners at the school are excited to showcase their talents at the Broadway to Disney show this week.

THE senior primary learners at St Mary’s DSG, Kloof are proud to present It’s a Broadway to Disney, an entertaining revue show from Wednesday, 24 July to Friday, 26 July from 6pm.

“Our 129 Grade 6 and Grade 7 girls are excited to be putting on this music extravaganza that combines elements of Broadway and Disney in an informative yet creative manner,” said the show’s director, Wendy Warrener.

As the show progresses through the decades, familiar songs will be performed for your enjoyment while the acting scenes link the vibrancy of Broadway to the magic of Disney.

“All of this energy culminates in the final scenes as we are introduced to the first female songwriter of a Disney film, Kristen Anderson-Lopez,” said Wendy. The determination and perseverance of Kristen links to the numerous values and life lessons experienced while watching Broadway and Disney shows.

“My hope, as director, is that each girl involved in this production embraces a value and grows through what this experience has to offer. Equipping our youth with tools for life is a necessary part of education and what better way than through song, dance and theatre,” exclaimed Wendy.

Tickets range from R65 to R75 and bookings can be made through Quicket at https://bit.ly/2GnFANs.
