Cars of Krugersdorp: a double whammy
The terrible (almost) twins are this week's Cars of Krugersdorp.
This week’s golden oldies may look the same, but their histories are interesting. Both cars belong to Dave Clarkson, who has been a Jaguar enthusiast since he was a boy.
Let’s start with the Oxford Blue 1964 Jaguar 3.8 MKII. The car was built in their factory at Brownslane in Coventry in the UK. From there the car was taken to South Africa, only to be taken to Zimbabwe a short while later.
The car has since made its way back to South Africa and currently resides in Tarlton.
“After standing for 20 years, it is still in its original condition with a beautiful patina. With factory-fitted chrome wire wheels and power steering, the car is a real head-turner wherever I go,” said Dave.
Lucky number two is an Olde English White 1967 Jaguar 3.8S. This car was built and sourced locally, and besides being repainted and upholstered, it is totally original.
