Tzaneen cricketer joins Limpopo Impalas squad
Atwell Mokgolobotho, former Vossie star, celebrates his selection to the Limpopo Impalas squad for the 2025/26 season.
TZANEEN – Tzaneen cricket talent Atwell Mokgolobotho has been named in the 12-man 2025/26 Limpopo Impalas Cricket Club squad. The Nkowankowa-born player, and former Vossie cricket star, described the selection as a major milestone in his career.
“I’m thrilled that my hard work and dedication have been recognised,” Mokgolobotho told the Herald. “Having a paying contract is a great feeling.”
He credited teammates, including Don Radebe, for encouraging him, and thanked his family, particularly his mother, Eunice Mokgolobotho, for financial and emotional support.
“My heart is filled with pride knowing my son has achieved this milestone,” Eunice said. “I’m beyond thrilled to see his dedication and passion for cricket recognised. I’ll always support him as he pursues his dreams.”

Mokgolobotho began playing cricket at Bombeleni Primary School in Nkowankowa and represented Limpopo in national competitions from the age of eleven.
He earned a scholarship to Ben Vorster High School in 2016 and completed Gr 12 in 2020. In 2021, he joined the Sport School of Excellence at the Titans Cricket Academy in Pretoria before moving to the Limpopo Impalas.
