Fransies brag with 7 gold medals

Frans du Toit High School participated in the Frikkie Deysel Athletics Meet, winning 7 gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze medals.

PHALABORWA – Learners from Frans du Toit High School participated in the Frikkie Deysel Athletics Meet, held at Merensky Agricultural Academy in Tzaneen on Friday, February 6. The Fransies delivered an impressive performance, winning a total of seven gold medals.

Athletes who secured first-place finishes were Wayne Chatukuta in the boys’ high jump, Shane Kuhlengis in the 1 500m, Haber Shiburi in the 800m, and Dougie Mongwe, who claimed two gold medals in the 110m and 400m hurdles.

Ithuthe Mtheto won gold in the 200m, while Tshegofatso Mkodwane took top honours in the girls’ 90m hurdles.

In addition to the gold medals, the school also brought home 13 silver and 12 bronze medals.
