Boss moves: Pearl Thusi gets stake in premium gin brand
From a successful hair-products range, actress Pearl Thusi now owns equity in a premium gin brand called Black Rose.

Pearl Thusi has made a big business move by acquiring ownership equity in a premium gin brand called Black Rose.
The actress shared the announcement on Instagram on Monday, expressing how excited she was about her big milestone.
Thusi says when she tasted Black Rose, gin she knew it was “special” and it wasn’t just the name that convinced her to sign the deal.
The businesswoman also has a collaboration with hair-product brand Afrobotanics. Her natural hair range is called the Black Pearl Collection.
“As a businesswoman and entertainer this is a huge milestone that I’m eager to celebrate with you countrywide and I equally cannot wait to see this venture growing from strength to strength. Thank you to Luxe Brands for believing in me.

“Thank you to my fans/cubs for always having my back! Time to celebrate! My friends and family for unending love and support,” she wrote.
Thusi describes the gin as smooth, with a “unique natural botanical mix that creates the special variants”. The Black Pearl and Black Rose blend is called Satin Original and is flavoured with ruby blood orange and blush pink pomegranate.
A close friend who also has a pie in the alcoholic beverage industry is Boulevard Rose owner DJ Zinhle. She congratulated Thusi for her hard work.
“I’m so inspired by how hardworking my friends are. Wishing you all the success Pearly… It’s gonna be a great summer,” she wrote on Twitter.
Black Rose said they were excited about their business partnership with the media personality.
“The partnership sees Pearl extend her business interests into the dynamic alcohol space and she brings with her a creative, entrepreneurial and marketing savvy know-how that we cannot wait to share with all our Black Rose supporters!
“We would like to thank Pearl for believing in Black Rose and look forward to her sharing a Black Rose cocktail with you all,” the statement read.
