Giorgio Armani is heading to Dubai for its Cruise 2021 fashion show.
The Italian house will unveil its upcoming collection in April at an as-yet undisclosed venue in the city, reports WWD.
The Armani brand, which opened its first hotel in Dubai in 2010, is further strengthening its ties with the city this April with the reopening of the Giorgio Armani boutique in the Dubai Mall. Speaking to WWD, designer Giorgio Armani highlighted the city’s hosting of Expo 2020, scheduled for October, as an additional draw.
“I’m very happy to be back in Dubai after 10 years, especially on the occasion of the Expo 2020 which will place a great emphasis on the city,” he said. “Dubai is a luxurious and fascinating place with a soul focused on the future, always in pursuit of the imagination.”
The Cruise 2021 season is fast shaping up to be a very international one: Prada has picked Japan for its May 21 show, according to earlier reports by WWD, while Max Mara will unveil its upcoming collection in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg on May 25. Fashion heavyweight Chanel has also confirmed that it will be heading to the glamorous Italian island of Capri to present its Cruise 2020/21 series on May 7.
