Mother of two strikes it big with R66 million Lotto jackpot

A mother of two from the Western Cape is South Africa’s newest multi-millionaire, after nabbing a Lotto Jackpot of R66 million.

According to Ithuba, South Africa’s national lottery operation, the mother of two girls bought a Quick Pick ticket on the Nedbank app.

The ticket proved to be a life-changing investment as it held the winning numbers for draw number 2335, which took place on Saturday, 20 May 2023.

The impressive Lotto jackpot amounted to an astonishing R66 175 535.10.

Ithuba said the winner “couldn’t contain her joy” when her ticket was confirmed. She said winning the Lotto had always been a dream of hers.

She said was overwhelmed with disbelieve and “experienced an indescribable feeling”.

With her newfound fortune, the lucky winner has exciting plans in mind.

Foremost, she intends to fulfill her dream of traveling overseas and exploring the world. But she also wants to secure a comfortable life for her family.

She wants to ensure her daughters have everything they need. One of the first things on her post-winning to do list is to buy a new family home.

In another stroke of luck, a Nedbank client won R2 408 859.90 in the Lotto draw 2336 on Wednesday night, 24 May.
