Two lucky lotto winners: Domestic worker plans to ‘buy bigger house’

Two lucky people have become millionaires after winning Lotto jackpots in January.

One of the winners is R25 million richer after bagging the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot on Saturday, 21 January 2023.

From retail worker to millionaire

The player from Cape Town, who bought his ticket at a Pick n Pay store, said he is not going to tell anyone he is a lotto millionaire.

There will be no major lifestyle changes for the jackpot winner. The man, who works at a retail store, also said he will continue working.

He plans use his jackpot to pay off his debt and buy property.

The man picked his winning numbers manually and said he found out he won the jackpot when he was on the internet.

Domestic worker wins more than R5 million

The Western Cape was also where the other lucky winner hails from. A lady, who works as a domestic worker, won the Lotto jackpot of R5,433,073.30 from the draw on 14 January 2023.

The winner has so far only shared the news with her daughter.

“I was so excited when I found out that I won, I screamed and now that I have won I plan to buy a bigger house,” said the women.

Ithuba lotteries would like to congratulate the first Lotto and Lotto Plus 1 multi-millionnaires for 2023.
