Sabie Brewing company shows its ‘thirst for perfection’
The beer company impressed guests on a cold night with a delightful beer and food pairing.
SABIE – Beer lovers braved the cold on Wednesday night to attend the launch of Sabie Brewing Company’s (SBC) exciting new lunch menu.
Of course, SBC is not necessarily known for its food, so to introduce the new menu, it treated guests to a beer-and-food pairing which left them wanting more.
“It was such a lovely party and people seemed to love it,” said SBC owner, Shaun McCartney. “We perfectly matched various beers with the flavour-rich food on the menu – all beers were true to their style and complemented the cuisine perfectly.”
The London ale Glynn’s Gold was matched with a delectable beer-battered hake and, in true German style, a juicy eisbein and wine-fermented sauerkraut were served with the Wheelbarrow Weiss.
For dessert, the staff of SBC did not disappoint with a moist and fluffy chocolate cake with Amarula icing served with the chocolate-and-chilli Shangaan Stout.
McCartney ascribes the evening’s success to the masters who prepared the meals and beers. “Both the food and the beer were prepared by people with a thirst for perfection.”
