Police show appreciation towards local campaigns

The local police held an appreciation ceremony for members of the community at Burgersfort Lapa on Tuesday

BURGERSFORT – The local police held an appreciation ceremony for members of the community at Burgersfort Lapa on Tuesday.

“The purpose of the event was to show our appreciation to community members who was part of our campaigns throughout the year by awarding each of them with a certificate and medal,” said Const Victoria Maluleka, Burgersfort police spokesman.

Lt Col Mmamoleka Margaret Kgwedi, Burgersfort station commander, said that this recognition motivates members to enhance productivity and teamwork. She also added that the members faithfully attend meetings every Monday and she thanked everyone for their devoted work.

Campaigns that received recognition during the ceremony were the Youth Desk presented by Const V Maluleka and Const AM Skosana, the Community Police Forum (CPF) presented by Capt M Maepa, Woman Against Crime also presented by Capt M Maepa, Reservists presented by Sgt O Molapo, Victim Empowerment Programme (VEP) presented by Capt TT Nemaitoni and Pastors Against Crime.
