Uplands enjoy every moment in KZN
The learners participated in many traditional, fun and exciting camp games.
The grade nines from Uplands College spent a week of fun at Sugar Bay Resort, a holiday camp for youngsters and teens, located at Zinkwazi Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.
Ninety-nine learners and four of their educators attended the school tour and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of being at the American-styled children’s summer camp. The learners participated in many traditional, fun and exciting camp games such as: skits and stunts, Sugar Bay fear factor and minute-to-win-it. They were also given the opportunity to take part in over 100 free-choice activities on land, which included bungee-trampoline, arts and crafts, drama and dance classes, surfing, kayaking, beach volleyball and stand-up paddle boarding at the beach. One of the highlights for the Uplands College learners was the experience and fun that all the water sports and water activities on the beach and lagoon offered, since they came from an inland province.
“We, at Sugar Bay loved having the learners and educators of Uplands College, Mpumalanga here with us. They made the most of the camping experience by taking part in all camp activities with great enthusiasm. They also made new friends with our camp’s amazing counsellors. We look forward to another school tour with the Uplands College learners and educators,” said the camp staff.
