Economist of note to deliver keynote talk
Botha, a previous winner of the finmedia Economist of the Year Award and with more than 40 years' experience, is exceptionally well qualified to advise executives and managers on prospects for the South African economy.
LYDENBURG – Well-known economist, Dr Roelof Botha will be the guest speaker at a public meeting of Lydenburg/Mashishing Business Chamber (LMBC) on Thursday July 20. Members of the chamber and the public are invited to attend this meeting where Botha will deliver an informative keynote address.
His past experience as an economic policy adviser at the National Treasury and regular discussions with political analysts also allow him to provide sensible reflections on the policy environment in general and in particular, the likely implications of the imminent leadership change in government. This provocative keynote, which provides a balanced and authoritative perspective on South Africa’s economic and political outlook, mingled with some optimism, is not to be missed.
Besides Botha’s keynote talk, the executive committee of LMBC will give feedback on the following:
• Main points of interest in Thaba Chweu Local Municipality’s (TCLM) 2017/18 budget.
• Discussions with TCLM with regard to service delivery, electricity, water, sewerage and roads.
• Sanral – progress on the roads.
• Plans/suggestions for town upgrade.
• Best Business Competition 2017 and gala dinner event.
The meeting will be held at the NG Kerk Suid church hall in Berg Street at 18:30. If you want to attend, please book by July 18. Contact Elzima on 060-977-1813 or email admin@lydenburgbusiness.co.za.
