Snap a selfie for interhigh and be a winner!

This year’s interhigh takes place on the sport fields of Hoërskool Nelspruit on Saturday February 21.

There is nothing that compares to the cheers of excitement reverberating from the pavillion, or the spirit of camaraderie among the competing schools and their supporters.

Penryn College, Hoërskool Nelspruit, Hoërskool Bergvlam, Rob Ferreira High School, Barberton High, Lydenburg Secondary School and Lowveld High – are you ready?

Lowvelders, prepare for one of the biggest sporting events on the calendar!

This years’ interhigh promises tangible energy, high spirits, loud cheers from thousands of learners, and a competitive edge like no other.

To get things going, Lowvelder and Vodacom have joined forces to launch a competition which you certainly don’t want to miss out on!

Here is what you need to do to enter:

1. Add Lowvelder to your WhatsApp contacts. The number is  072 052 1070.

2. Pupils must take selfies with the Vodacom cut-outs which will be delivered to all participating schools, and send them Lowvelder WhatsApp contact.

3. Note that only students from interhigh-participating schools may enter.

3. These selfies will be added to a gallery on the Facebook page, The Low-down powered by Lowvelder.

4. When sending your selfie, make sure to include your (a) name (b) surname and (c) school’s name.

Closing date for entries: February 22, 2015.

How will the winner be selected?

Participants of this competition must get the public to vote for their selfie in the gallery of photos posted on The Low-down powered by Lowvelder Facebook Page.  The 10 selfies which have the most ‘likes’ by Monday March 2 at 00:00 will be featured in Lowvelder‘s popular online page 14.

To vote for your favourite, SMS the name of selfie as published in Lowvelder to 35954 before midnight on Monday, March 16.  SMSes cost R1,50. The selfies with the most votes win. Voting lines will open on March 5.

SMS the number and keyword ‘Vodacom’ to the number (35954) to vote. The selfies with the most votes will be selected as the top three winners!

Now we get to the best part of the competition! Here is what the winners will walk away with:

• The first-place winner will receive a tablet and a Kicka
• Second place and third place each win a Kicka
• One lucky SMS voter wins a tablet in a lucky draw
• All of the above winners will be announced and featured in the print edition of Lowvelder on Friday March 27.

Take note that each participant of this competition MUST be an enrolled learner of one of the participating schools for 2015.
