Four little Einstein’s shine at expo

Four learners of Nelspruit Primary School (NPS) have been selected to represent Mpumalanga at the Eskom South Africa International Science Fair.

Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is South Africa’s primary and only existing science fair for pupils, at which they have the opportunity to exhibit their own scientific
investigations.
NPS competed in the regional expo at Penryn College in August. They came home with 23 medals – eight gold, one silver and 14 bronze.
They also received the trophy for the best participating primary school. Riyaad Mohamed and Muhammed Patel received awards for the best intermediate-phase project and Sakhile Dlamini got a trophy for the best senior-phase project.
For the International Science Fair, pupils must first enter a project in one of 26 regional finals from July to September, and the best will be selected for participation in the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists International Science Fair in late September or early October.
