Thanks to contributions from the community, Sehlulile Primary School can now realise its dream of uplifting its youth to its best potential.

MATSULU – Thanks to contributions from the community, Sehlulile Primary School can now realise its dream of uplifting its youth to its best potential.

Principal of the charming school, Mr Elmon Thela, gathered delegates from the provincial department of education’s circuit management, Hoërskool Nelspruit, Sanlam head office in Cape Town, as well as from Nelspruit, to officially thank them for their contributions.

One of Sanlam’s CEOs, Mr Johan van der Merwe is a Hoërskool Nelspruit alumni and as part of his pledge to support his alma mater, has joined hands with Dr Swanepoel to further develop Sehlulile Primary, with donations for approved projects from Sanlam.

“We would like to thank Mr Johan van der Merwe for joining Dr Swanepoel in building a new kitchen for our feeding scheme, upgrading and decorating our learners’ beautiful bathrooms, as well as erecting a wall with taps where our learners can get clean water to quench their thirst,” Mr Thela said at the event last Thursday.

“I see in front of me future doctors, nurses, lawyers and scientists. I also see the future principal of this very school among you all,” Thela said to his pupils. “Thanks to these contributions, I know that our teaching staff will now be able to educate you in such a way that you will be able to build yourself up to be whatever you wish to be,” he added.
