NELSPRUIT – Barney and Friends and Educare Primary Spring Walk over five and or ten kilometres, held at the Nelspruit Rugby Club, was first off the mark. It also offered kids and active parents an opportunity to engage in other fun activities like hoola-hooping and more on the field.
The children did their own walk around the field to the sound of lively music and cheering from the parents.
The event which is sponsored by Tarentaal Spar aims to generate funds to buy school supplies for the 217 learners.
Thanks to the various sponsers, the winners of the 5km and 10km races received wonderful prizes and trophies. The children each received a medal and can probably not wait for 2014 for a repeat.
