Department head of health moved to co-operative governance

Mr Richard Mnisi's new position is as the programme manager of Cogta's municipal support programme.

NELSPRUIT – The premier’s office confirmed this week that Mr Richard Mnisi has left the department of health. Mnisi was the head of department at health before moving to the department of co-operative governance and traditional affairs (Cogta) this week.

Mr Zibonele Mncwango, spokesman for the premier, confirmed on Thursday that Mnisi is now the programme manager of Cogta’s municipal support programme.

“Mnisi’s employer believes that his strengths would assist Cogta,” he said. “It is part of our ongoing dedicated support for municipalities. We thank him for his contribution at his former department and trust he will change the situation at municipalities for the better.”

Ronnie Masilela, spokesman for the department of health, confirmed that Dr Jabu Dlamini has been appointed as the acting head of the department.
