Summerhil Prep Market Day

Summerhill Prep School held their market day under blue skies on a beautiful sunny day.

HAZYVIEW – The young entrepreneurs had to pay to set up a stall and sell handmade products which were made by the children themselves. The learners showed a great deal of creativity and effort in the design and creation of their goods.

After the event each child had to present a business plan which included marketing and a financial audit. The grade six pupils had a delightful tea garden where moms and dads could enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious piece of cake or milk tart. The staff was well-prepared and served the customers with friendly faces. Fifteen per cent of the profit, raised by each child, went to “Pro life.”

The rest of the money went to their pockets, after paying back any ‘loans’ from the parents. The market day turned out to be a resounding success.
