German visitors have the time of their lives
Once Tilgner returns to his homeland, there is still another year left before he will receive his masters in his craft.
BARBERTON – Two weeks ago Barberton Times reported on the three Germans, Heinrich Drechsel (25), Ansgar Búscher (21) and Kevin Tilgner (26), in our town. Tilgner has just completed his three years of training in the town.
The brotherhood they belong to is called the Freier Vogtländer Deutschland, consisting of a federation of construction workers such as carpenters, masons, roofers, bricklayers, concrete workers and builders.

These men actually ended up in Barberton by taking a wrong turn, which in the end turned out to be the “right” one. In the end they stayed in a tent in the caravan park in for three weeks. With the help of this publication they were introduced to Andrea Botha of Friends of the Barberton Daisy, who offered them a job helping to fix and build a bridge at Rimer’s Creek, among other things.
Once Tilgner returns to his homeland, there is still another year left before he will receive his masters in his craft.
They all agreed that they had the time of their lives in Barberton. On behalf of them, Botha thanked everyone that took the time to get to know them and made them feel welcome.
