Manthano pupils at All Africa Students Convention

Eight senior pupils from Manthano School attended the All African Student Convention recently held over 4 days in Bloemfontein. The event was held at Bloemfontein University and 1 400 pupils from school using the Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum (ACE) attended it.
These pupils were drawn from 11 countries around the world. They competed in 150 categories which included archery, athletics, chess, physical fitness, drama, art, speech, music and photography. Four of Manthano students Lynné Kotze; Tsepiso Moloi; Ian van der Walt and Ewan van der Walt excelled in their individual entries and have received nominations to attend the International Student Convention in the USA. They will participate as part of the Africa delegation and compete against ACE students from Australia, Europe and America.
The results of the students’ entries were as follows;
Lynné Kotze received a gold medal for her recitation of the complete Book of John from memory. She also received a silver medal for her skill at counted cross stitch.
Tsepiso Moloi also received a gold medal for his recitation of the complete Book of John from memory. Additionally he received and an eight position for his solo vocal performance.
Ewan van der Walt was awarded a gold medal for his power point presentation and a silver medal for the puppet show he presented.
Ian van der Walt obtained a silver medal for his power point presentation and a bronze medal for his puppet show.
Elzanie Pietersen came in at 7th place for her social studies research project.
Minette Kotze was awarded a 7th place for her solo vocal performance and also came in at number 8 for her talents at scrap booking.
Finally Ewald Steenkamp took a bronze for his puppet show and Dawid Steenkamp took silver for his puppet show
