Dreamfields and Chevrolet Ute Force Indestructible Spirit Project donates soccer kits
Dreamfields and Chevrolet Ute Force Indestructible Spirit Project donated brand new soccer kits to grade 4 to 7 boys and girls of Barney Primary School in Bushbuckridge. These “DreamBags” included enough boots, uniforms, balls, training and refereeing equipment for a team of 15 players.
Also included in the in the DreamBags is a consignment of One World Futbols. These are virtually indestructible soccer balls which will be used during practice sessions and skills development workshops. The One World Futbol is tougher than ordinary soccer balls, giving needy children the opportunity to play with a ball which lasts as long as their own indestructible spirits. Each team is responsible for taking care of their DreamBags further instilling discipline and pride in the pupils.
The collaboration between Dreamfields and Chevrolet’s Indestructible Spirit Project will result in the development of an inter-school soccer league for over two hundred children and involving 26 teachers. Teachers and parents will now be able to encourage children to embrace the spirit of soccer while teaching them the importance of team work and discipline
“In the remote rural communities, schools play an incredibly important role.” says John Perlman, founder and CEO Dreamfields. “ Positive investments like this from Chevrolet will touch more than just the lives of the children; their families will also be touched by this indestructible spirit.”
Tim Hendon , Brand Manager for Chevrolet South Africa stated that the company places a great deal of importance on developing communities through sport. “Our collaboration with Dreamfields,” says Hendon “ allows us the opportunity to stimulate relevant and sustainable change where it is needed the most.”
