LYDENBURG – A British tourist has been missing for more than 22 hours after he broke away from his tour group to explore a lodge trail.

Mr Harold Write (74) went missing from Misty Mountain Lodge on the Longtompass on Monday at 17h00 shortly after they arrived with their Thompson tour group at the lodge.

According to Capt. Pottie Potgieter of the Whiteriver diving unit, the tour group went for a brief walk after their bus ride. While the group turned around at the first trout dam, Write apparently said that he wanted to carry on walking along the trail.

He hasn’t been seen since. A full blown search has been launched to trace his whereabouts. Read the full story in the paper on Friday.

In the meantime, Potgieter are urging anyone with any sighting of Write to please contact him on 082-449-5910. Write is wearing beige shorts, a white and blue shirt and a brown long sleeve jumper. He has blue eyes, grey hair and is 1.78m tall.
