ANC-appeal for local secretaries continues

The provincial ANC has appealed against the decision of the national party list committee to reject the bids of two regional secretaries and the provincial secretary of the ANCWL to go to parliament.

NELSPRUIT – The three ANC secretaries who have applied to go to Parliament after the forthcoming elections, would hopefully know their fate by Tuesday.

Mr Lucky Ndinisa, provincial secretary of the ANC, explained to Lowvelder yesterday that the provincial branch of the ANC made their case to the party’s national executive committee at Luthuli House on Tuesday.

The national party list committee had earlier rejected the bid of Mr Pat Ngomane, regional secretary of Ehlanzeni; Mr Muzi Chirwa, regional secretary of Gert Sibande District; and Ms Clara Ndlovu, provincial secretary of the ANC Women’s League to be allowed to go to parliament, on the basis that they occupy full-time positions in the party.

Ndinisa, however, explained that since their terms had already expired, and the provincial leadership had decided to postpone new elections within the structures until after the general elections, they had very good reason to appeal and be allowed on the list.
