Glamorous event to raise funds for CANSA Debs

Gowns and tux's to be auctioned at Casterbridge Car Museum

A Dress and Tux auction will be held on Friday February, 28 at the Casterbridge Car Museum at18:00.
All proceeds of the evening will go to the Uplands CANSA Debs. A whiskey tasting will also be presented to guests attending the event.

The fundraiser was created by two grade 10 students, Kiran Coetzee and Robyn Forte, both from Uplands. These learners noticed how many expensive evening garments were bought specially for matric farewells and debutante functions. After these events these beautiful clothes are then never worn again. In order to utilise these garments further Kiran and Robyn decided to launch a project where people are asked to donate their used tux’s and gowns which will then be auctioned off at the glamorous event.

“We have received so many garments from people,” says Kiran Coetzee. ”It is going to be an exciting evening with everyone bidding for the gowns and tux. The gowns that have been donated are in impeccable condition and are exquisite! ”

Kiran and Robyn are appealing to readers to continue to donate unwanted eveningwear for their worthy fundraiser. Tickets cost R50 p/person and there are only 400 tickets available. Guest will also be able to enjoy cheese and wine which has been sponsored by TOPS Riverside.

For further information and tickets contact Kiran at kchilli.kiran@gmail.com. During school hours he can be reached via sms on 079-883-1129. Contact can be made personally with Kiran after 18:00 on the same number.
