NELSPRUIT – The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in Mpumalanga will open its periodic offices this week to accommodate potential voters who have not yet registered.

“The reason for the opening is to give an opportunity to all who missed the final registration weekend an opportunity to be part of the forthcoming historic elections,” the IEC explained. The election date has been announce as May 7 and it is expected to be proclaimed anytime soon. Once the date has been gazetted, all registrations will be closed.

The periodic offices in all municipalities will be opened on weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00 until February 25. In Ehlanzeni District Municipality, these offices are:

Leroro Library and Graskop Municipal Office in Thaba Chweu Municipality; White River Town Hall as well as Kabokweni and Matsulu municipal offices is Mbombela; Mbabgwane Thutong Centre and Matsamo Tribal Office in Nkomazi; and Hluvukani and the Acornhoek municipal office in Bushbuckridge.
