The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced on Friday that the registration period would come to a close at 17:00 today, since it was expected that president Mr Jacob Zuma’s announcement of the date for the national and provincial elections would be gazetted today.
This marks the end of the voter registration period. The elections are to be held on May 7.
