Buffelspruit residents face difficulties without water
It appears that residents have been without water for over two weeks, due to broken pumps.

BUFFELSPRUIT – It appears that residents have been without water for over two weeks, due to broken pumps.
Ms Ester Mabuza, a resident says it is difficult. “These problems are not new, my husband and I have been living here for almost 21 years and this problem still persists after years and years of empty promises.”
Corridor Gazette travelled from house to house, enquiring about these issues. All the people said the same thing: at times there was no clean running water. “It usually goes off for about two to three days, then it’s back, then off again. There is a borehole, but it is far from us,” explained Mabuza.
According to Mr Cyril Ripinga, spokesman for the local municipality, heavy rain affected the whole Nkomazi and some areas are without water. He said, “We were forced to remove pumps for repair and make alternative plans to assist the people. Everyone is having problems with damages and we are hard at work repairing and making alternative plans. We ask the communities to bear with us. Some of the pumps are back and are functioning correctly.
Hectorspruit’s were repaired on Tuesday. We hope to have the whole Nkomazi’s water back to normal by the end of this week.”
