Sadek Abraham (27), who pleaded guilty, will reappear on April 25. He is currently out on bail of R500.
There were fears among some ANC leaders, that the robbers had intended to sabotage the party’s campaign for the national elections on May 7. But Abraham’s arrest and non-affiliation to any political party has allayed all the fears.
Initially, he had been apprehended for housebreaking in the Cathyville area. But after a lengthy interrogation by detectives, he confessed that the string of burglaries he had committed included that of the ANC offices. He pointed out all the places.
