Potholes are becoming a serious problem

Slowly but surely potholes are appearing all over town.

MALALANE – Slowly but surely potholes are appearing all over town. The municipality’s attempts to maintain good road conditions seem to be futile.

Residents have recorded that it is the first time in the history of their town that its roads have been in such poor state.

The municipality’s attempts to fix the roads have lead to potholes being filled with a sand/cement mixture that seems to deteriorate more every time a vehicle drives over it.

The town’s roads are suffering due to this non-delivery but these conditions are a reality all over Nkomazi.

Komatipoort, Hectorspruit and the trust areas such as Naas, KaMhlushwa and Driekoppies are experiencing the same maintenance issues that lead to poor road safety.

Corridor Gazette phoned Mr Cyril Ripinga, spokesman for the municipality, to enquire about these poor attempts at fixing the potholes. He said, “I am not sure who is fixing these roads. I don’t know if it is a municipal attempt or who it is. I will inform you as soon as I have the correct information.”
