NELSPRUIT – The municipal public accounts committee (MPAC) is to table its recommendations on Mbombela’s finances tomorrow.
The committee, which exercises oversight over council’s executive functionaries to ensure good governance, was required to make its findings and recommendations on the Auditor-General’s (AG) report to council by the end of March, but a delay caused by the office of the mayor, Cllr Cathy Dlamini, delayed the process.
The speaker for Mbombela, Ms Jesta Sidell, said she was disappointed with the executive for failing to adhere to the deadlines and causing the report to be delayed.
The special council meeting during which it will be tabled is scheduled for 09:00 at the council chambers. Read more online tomorrow.
