Opening of voting stations running smoothly

Voting in the 2014 general elections has opened. You have until 21:00 to cast your vote.

NELSPRUIT – Voting stations across the Lowveld have opened and no serious disruptions have been reported as yet.

Most voting stations opened on time at 07:00 this morning for the country’s fifth national and provincial elections. It has been reported that Laerskool Laeveld and LVCC opened late, but all stations are open now.

At Laerskool Bergland, some people started lining up to cast their votes as early as 05:30. At Laerskool Sabie, 60 people were queuing at around 07:00. The first excited voter for the day was Angel Mayisane.

Remember to go get a free cup of coffee from Wimpy with your inked thumb. Let us know about any incidents at your voting station. Comment below or on our Facebook page, tweet us @LowveldMedia, or phone 013-754-1700.
