Calvary is proud of its little readers

Calvary pupils quickly master reading thanks to great programme.

Calvary Christian School still prides itself on its reading programme. Ms Susan Calitz said that after 28 years, the school still achieves good results with the Accelerated Christian Education programme it follows.

According to her, it takes grade one pupils only six months to master reading with this.

“They can literally pick up a book and read it,” Calitz said. Pictured here are two of the readers, Khutso Sekgobela and Tiaan Kreeft with Ms Annemarie Botha, who has been a grade one teacher for 18 years.

Calitz pointed out that Calvary’s matriculants wrote an internationally recognised final examination. The school took no more than a total of 60 learners, and a maximum of 10 per grade. There are still two spaces available.
