The ANC in Limpopo issued a media statement confirming the firing of four mayors in the province. The list of the sacked mayors include Greater Tubatse Municipality (GTM)’s own Josias Nkosiyabo Mahlake.
According to our reliable sources, the ANC provincial executive committee took a decision on June 23 to recall the mayors. The other three mayors are Mr Lawrence Mapoulo of the Capricorn district,Mr Joshua Matlou of the Mopani district, and Ms Wendy Matemane of Elias Motsoaledi municipality.
It is rumoured that the quartet were fired because of underperforming. The paper has not yet received a comment from GTM spokesperson Mr Thabiso Mokoena.
