Summerhill’s grades ones to threes were recently given an outdoor challenge to test their teamwork and ability to follow instructions.

The 45 kids were divided into groups of five and had to choose an appropriate spot in the area surrounding the school.

In order to participate effectively they had to read instructions and follow through with all the activities. Teamwork was essential in order to succeed.

Each group had to work towards attaining three tokens which would enable them to receive a well-deserved reward at the end. Activities included kindling fires and braaiing their own sausages, then clearing the area of all evidence of a fire. The pupils all had great fun with these interesting activities.
