St Peter’s learners take time to spoil their grandparents

Grandparents were the highlight of the day at St Peter's Primary School

Grandparents were the highlight of the day at St Peter’s Primary School. It celebrated a special day for them by producing a show this past Thursday.

The schoolchildren entertained grand-parents with a choir and dance recital, drummers and poetry. They were also treated to tea and cake afterwards.

The opening prayer stated that a loving God had given us the wondrous gift of grandparents. His gracious love was reflected in their love and care for children. “We thank you Lord for the ways in which they spoil us, for the celebrations they never forget and for all the snuggles they give us.

“We thank you for giving us grandparents to share their wisdom, to listen to and to love us.” Principal Mr Jacques Janse van Rensburg stated that they played a vital role in the lives of children and sometimes were the only ones they could talk to. He said this was the way the school could say thank you.
