The pupils of Manthano Christian School proved that they’re a talented bunch during their annual talent show at AFM White River on June 12. To warm up before the show, audience members enjoyed soup and bread before heading to the auditorium.
The children sang, danced, played instruments and recited poems, which was applauded and encouraged by fellow pupils, teachers and parents. The audience was invited to join in as the program was opened by praise and worship. Items in the first half included Dawid Steenkamp’s rendition of “Youth of the nation”, Thalifo Mkasi’s passionate version of “My brother John” and Minette Kotze performing her own beautiful piano compositions and a stirring rendition of “Note to God”. Moms and teachers sang and danced along with children in front, helping to refresh a memory when there were just too many words.
During the break, the attendees enjoyed coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cupcakes.
The second half opened to Dawid Steenkamp and Damion Holloway’s drama piece – a conversation between Jesus and Donald Trump. Tsepiso Moloi presented an amazing rendition of “Blessings” and the Manthano teachers made sure they weren’t left out with the comedy skit, “Throwing Pebbles”. The actors in the video clip “Mom for a day” made the crowd roar with laughter as one of the dads experienced being in a mother’s shoes.
The evening was ended off with a few praise and worship songs and both the audience and participants had great fun.
Manthano would like to thank everyone who helped make the evening a great success.
