LYDENBURG – A year ago a house in Tuscan Villa was demolished when one of the town’s major pipelines burst underneath it. History could now repeat itself after it was discovered that this pipeline has begun to leak.
The town was left without water for days on end while the pipe had to be rerouted around the Townhouse complex.
Mr Jan Neethling, owner of a small holding that borders these Villa’s, then gave TCM permission to reroute the pipeline on part of his land. His agreement and conditions for the use of the land included that the pipe would be buried underground and out of sight. “For the past year this pipe has not been buried and is lying on the ground next to the townhouses. The pipe has now begun to leak and with the enormous pressure from the water, it could at any given time burst resulting in the flood of my dam and nearby houses.”
