BURGERSFORT- It never rains but it pours for the Greater Tubatse Municipality (GTM), the municipality is in shambles both politically and administratively.
Just a month after the former mayor Mr Nkosiyabo Mahlake was recalled by the ANC, and was replaced by Mr Ralepane Mammekwa, the GTM is again making headlines for the wrong reasons.
Its acting municipal manager (MM) Ms Adelaide Monyepao has been called on to step down amid allegations of corruption and maladministration. Locals believe the municipality is having a rough patch since the dawn of democracy.
According to a report from a popular Sunday paper (Sunday world), the Hawks and the public protector invaded the municipality on Monday June 15; they are investigating the municipality on charges of corruption, including tender irregularities and the alleged inflation of legal invoices.
