The Umjindi Municipality continues to lead the service-delivery Friday programme which was launched a month ago.

The initiative is aimed at keeping Umjindi clean.

According to the municipal spokesman, Sam Jele, they have made a difference in all the areas they have visited over the past four weeks.

“Last Friday we were at Emjindini Ext 10 and 11 where we cleaned up the drainage system and repaired street lights. We also cleared the dumping sites. This is an ongoing project and we have made a difference everywhere we have been so far. The areas are no longer the same,” said Jele.

He added that they appreciated all the local businesses that have embraced the service-delivery Friday concept since it started.

“They have been contributing to this great project in various forms of donations, including cash. We are very humbled by your support,” Jele concluded.

The project continues until this Friday.
