Thaba Moshate casino on track for the grand opening in 2015

Construction has progressed according to schedule as 85 per cent of all concrete works, 80 per cent of brickwork on the hotel building and 40 per cent of the brickwork on the casino are complete.

BURGERSFORT – The Thaba Moshate Hotel Casino and Convention Resort which is constructed by the Peermont Group is on track for its 2015 grand opening.

Since the sod-turning the end of September 2013, the bulk of the earthwork has been completed and by mid-January this year, building construction had commenced.

Construction has progressed according to schedule as 85 per cent of all concrete works, 80 per cent of brickwork on the hotel building and 40 per cent of the brickwork on the casino are complete.

“The structure has already started to change the skyline of Burgersfort. All service installations have commenced and are 30 per cent complete. At this rate the projected date of construction works to be completed is December 2014 in order for operational fit-outs to commence in January 2015. Currently the project employs more than 300 local individuals on-site.

The new Peermont property will boast an impressive 6295 m² entertainment complex worth a committed R324 Million investment for the Limpopo Province. Facilities will include an 80 room hotel, 148 seater restaurant and 130 seater venue for conference style functions. Thaba Moshate is also set to host 150 slot machines and 8 gaming tables, a show and service bar, child care facilities, landscaped gardens and impressive pool and Boma amenities. The Thaba Moshate Hotel Casino and Convention Resort is expected to draw a majority of its support from the magisterial District of Sekhukhune. The resort which now bares none of its remarkable building attributes, stands as a construction site between the R37 from Burgersfort to Polokwane and the R555 road to Steelport where the main access road will lie.

Mr Anthony Puttergill, Peermont Group CEO relayed his excitement over, “Peermont creating an exceptional offering to the beautiful province of Limpopo, and pioneering the first resort of this magnitude for the Greater Tubaste Municipality (GTM).”

The creation of a resort of this magnitude has considerable economic benefits for the GTM Area. The community trust established through various economic groups in the area and local B-BEEE partners will receive a once-off donation of R1 million as well as a fixed donation in the first year of operation of R 250 000.

Thaba Moshate offers local community members the promise of new jobs and sustainable employment, plus retention of disposable income within the local Region to assist in promoting tourism. The Peermont Tubatse Community Trust will offer further opportunities to local business owners and with on-going community development and initiatives.
