The Caxton CTP group of which Lowveld Media forms part continues to revamp its digital platforms, and throughout the course of last year launched 70 community sites reaching not only audiences in the Lowveld, but from Port Shepstone to Polokwane including titles such as Sandton Chronicle, South Coast Herald, Alberton Record and many more. Caxton Local News websites now offer readers international news along with their favourite local news; this comes after as the company continues to revamp its digital platforms. The launch of international news, provided by Agence France-Presse, aims to keep our readers informed of events around the world, but by means of a one-stop solution.

“The addition of international content on our sites improves our offering tremendously. Our audiences can now stay abreast of international news and events. Caxton’s local newspapers have now become your one stop site for a huge variety of information”, adds Chris Louw, Caxton’s national online editor. The reality is that although we live in a specific town, our interest stretches further than the boundaries of where we live.

Although adding this offering for our loyal community, readers can rest assured that our main focus remains local news. Caxton CTP’s digital aggregator, Looklocal was also relaunched with a fresh look-and-feel in June, boasting broader editorial content and more opportunities for local businesses.

Readers in the Lowveld mmight still remember Looklocal Lowveld, one of about 40 regional Looklocal websites. Initially launched in 2011, the offering has grown in popularity and since then both consumers and advertisers have requested more functionality from the site which has led to the upgrade and relaunch. So, the place to find your daily local news, and now also international news, is our title sites.
