Hazyview Primary’s teachers and pupils stepped into their slippers and celebrated National Slipper day on August 1 to show their support and solidarity for the Reach for a Dream Foundation.
Furry, bright, animal and plain slippers were funky accessories to school uniforms and work clothes and kept feet warm during the early hours of the morning.
Reach for a Dream grants the wishes of children between the ages of 3 and 18 who are fighting life-threatening illnesses like cancer, muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis. The Foundation helps children through projects like Camp Sunshine and Show You Care Send A Bear.
The young children are under extreme pressure to deal with these medical issues and are in desperate need of encouragement. Reach For A Dream offers the child a magical moment to regain the childhood that is being lost to an illness.
