Mbombela library’s spelling bee adds joy to learning

Literacy week celebrated with great enthusiasm.

MBOMBELA – The Mbombela Library celebrated literacy week with a spelling bee that drew young readers from around the Mbombela region.

The Mbombela local library celebrated this week in a way that entertained young readers from across Mbombela.  With the aid of a sponsorship from the Mbombela Local Municipality, the library offered educational boardgames as prizes for the winners.

“The theme for this year’s spelling bee was “going places” and aimed to improve the literacy skills of all participants.  Many students attended the event and made friends while sharing in the joy of learning.

Nomsa Ndlozi, librarian and organiser, said that the participation in this year’s event was very satisfying.

Our city’s library has a vast collection of recreational books as well as research facilities and computers with internet access.  The library offers a public service and one and all is invited to enquire about Membership at 45 Samora Machel Drive, where the library is located.
